So here it is, over a MONTH later, and I'm barely updating! I, Lindsay, do solemnly swear to update a liiiittle more frequently.
First things first. Tuesday was a lovely day because I got a job:and an internship:
So basically, I will be attending about 95% of all sports games in Eugene until next May. I'll be running the merch stand by myself at the Emeralds homes games, and then I'll see the Duck football games from the press box instead of the rowdy (but wonderful) student section. I'm relieved that I finally found a job AND an internship, and also excited because they are going to be awesome.

Twitter and Actual Bird Tweets
This weekend:
- a scale told me I was 24% body fat. Now, I know I can eat like a hippo, but c'mon!
- I saw the latest (and hopefully last) installment of Fast & the Furious. Emotion-stirring! Well-acted! Poignant! Brilliant plot line! Orrr, y'know, just explosions and car chases. :P
- I read all 4,614 lines of Faust. For my humanities class. Not for pleasure. Definitely not for pleasure.
- I got pie from Sweet Life. 'Nuff said.
- I found a ridiculous mix station to listen to while I'm trying to sleep. I now have my fill of Backstreet Boys, Boston, and Bryan Adams.
- I ate amazing deliciousness from China Blue...twice
- I added a bunch of celebrities on Twitter because a) I'm a dork and b) I need to use it for class. And then I felt speshul because the Dog Whisperer and Gov. Schwarzenegger added me, hahaha. I'm for reals, man.
- I ate breakfast at 2am. Y'all know how I do things.
- I went four-wheeling...at midnight...in total darkness...in tons of mud. I.e. amazing!
- I was reminded how wonderful cinnamon toast is.
- I played with guns bigger than my whole arm, oh my!
- I spent an hour looking up a certain bird call I've heard all my life and it's pretty much my favorite one because it's distinct and cute and sing-songy and I can't find it online and it's frustrating because I can hear it recorded in the background of OTHER bird call examples!! And then I laughed because there I was, listening to bird songs online when there were tons of actual birds singing outside my window. Including the one I was looking for.
- I learned that bird enthusiasts describe certain bird calls as "drink your teeea, "sweet sweet peachy, "oh dear me," and "quick with the beer check."
- I fed carrots to a horsie.
- I decoupaged. Lately I've been feelin' craftyyy.

The Curse of the Singing Dumpster!
It was a dark and stormy night...
Wait, no it wasn't.
It was a bright and sunny day...dun dun DUN!! And I was on my merry way to the park with Rory to read in the grass and enjoy the sun. We walked by a game going on at the new PK Park:
And saw a really huge, really random Louisville Slugger:
Rory loved laying out in the sun with me while I read The Shack (good book so far!)

Some kid must be REALLY sad, having just accidentally let go of 40 balloons...
Alright, so I'm walkin' home, right? And I'm walking slowly, on the lookout for any good photo ops, and I begin to notice the faint sound of cheerful midi music. It gets louder as I walk by this old dumpster at the far edge of the park. Double-you-tee-eff, right? So I walk up to it, and sho' 'nuff, it's coming from inside the dumpster. Good thing it was bright and sunny, otherwise, hello, creepy! Cheerful music is never cheerful in the movies when it's at a scary part. In fact, it's usually scarier than actual creepy music. Anyway, I took a video for evidence that I was indeed sane and not just hearing things:

So yeah, definitely strange but nothing too crazy. I take a bunch more pictures and head home. I downloaded the pictures later on in the evening, and excitedly went to preview all the ones I thought came out pretty good. But uhhh, there weren't ANY pictures after the dumpster one. Double-you-tee-eff again, right? Then I noticed one picture was super garbled and not even a picture of anything, just colors and data. Funny how digital pictures can turn out just as messed up as developed ones do. Anyway, then my camera said Memory Card Error and that's when I got ticked because I really wanted the MANY other pictures I had taken after the run-in with the dumpster and they were all g-o-n-e! So, I decided that because this dumpster was so weird, its little sing-song must've cursed me and my pictures from then on. Rude!
Thankfully, a kind little photo restore program undid the Curse of the Dreaded Dumpster of Doom, Death, Destruction, and Despair! Yay:
Did you know dandelion puffs are called dandelion clocks? For some reason I find that really funny. And kind of cool, because you're wishing on a clock, which is a symbol for time, so really you're wishing on time itself, and what are you wishing for? Or instead of getting all philosophical you could just sit in the grass and blow on the dang thing.
Someone left their glasses on the dog park fence! Pretty thick lenses, so how could they not notice they're not wearing them?? Mine are thick like that too and boy, I'm blind and helpless without them!
A crow with the head of a baby chipmunk. (Not really.) (Although I did see some baby raccoons at the park.) (I was gonna take a picture but I didn't want to scare them up the tree.) (They were really cute.)
Man, I wish palm trees looked like THIS. Or I guess I wish I was an ant, and then these really would be my palm trees. Sweeeet.
I love finding ladybugs!
Mr. Edgar Allan Crow, looking particularly well-feathered today.Posted by Lindsay at 11:17 PM 0 comments

Allerions and Birdies
In case you were wondering about the name of this blog, "allerion" is a word I came across when I was anagramming my name (oh, that's just one of my many exciting hobbies!). I looked it up and it's a type of bird found on coats of arms and such. It's "an eagle-like bird from medieval bestiaries. They were said to be larger than an eagle, the color of fire, and the royalty of birds. There would only be two allerions at a time, and they would drown themselves after laying two eggs for the next generation. The chicks would then be cared for by other birds." So, they sound kinda emo, drowning themselves and all, but they're not real anyway! I just am a big fan of birds.

Morlocks and Barns
Two Friday-the-13ths in one year! I wonder how those superstitious people are holding up out there. Two in one year is probably a lot to handle. I DID, however, get attacked by a black cat today! I'm not superstitious at allll, but I thought it was pretty funny that of all days, a black cat picked today to launch itself at me from my apartment stairs while I was walking up and busy looking at my junk mail.
Speaking of scary stuff (sort of), yesterday I got out of class early and decided to go to my favorite antique store downtown. I LOVE old stuff. I don't know why, but I love imagining the histories behind everything. This particular antique store has two parts: a friendly side where everyone is happily antiquing and listening to cheerful songs on the radio; then there's The Annex (capitalized for scary effect, of course!). No one goes back there because you have to go through a door in the back and walk down a long, creepy hallway, and it looks like you're not supposed to be back there. The antiques in The Annex (use your scary voice when you read that) aren't as fancy, and everything's a little more haphazard. It's the area they do the sorting and pricing, but everyone's welcome to shop back there. Anyway, it's SUPER creepy.
The picture doesn't do it justice because it looks all sunshine-y and gleeful. But actuallyyy, there is LOTS of creaking (always coming from behind you, of course), and who knows what (or who...or WHAT) is up in the dark upstairs. The upstairs is a huge, empty area from what I can tell and I kinda wish I could explore, but it's blocked off and also, I'm a chicken. I was texting a friend about all of the creaking footstep-ish noises I was hearing, being all alone in The Annex, and he reminded me of these super scary monsters called morlocks that we saw on a TV show. They freaked me out for some reason, so that was really sweet of him to remind me while I was in a scary old room! Morlocks:
There was also a creepy painting of an old lady who kept watching me:
And this. I don't mind clowns normally, but this one is effing scary! I can only imagine how scary it is for people who actually have clownophobia. Ok ok, technically it's called coulrophobia, but that's not as fun.
I hightailed it outta there after hearing one too many creaks and having visions of morlocks dancing in my head. But in actuality, even though I'm totally a chicken, I love creepy stuff! All thanks to my dad of course. We love scary stories and ghosts and castles and haunted houses. There was this creepy old barn in a park we used to go to when I was little, and we'd make up all kinds of scary stories about it:
I want to go back to Tualatin and visit that barn someday.

Sprinkles and Sarita's
So I hate the word "blog" but I'm starting one. Because I can. Starting it off is a totally pointless post: the name of the game is Post-A-Picture-Of-The-Following-Things-From-A-Google-Search!
My age:
